If you’re here, it’s because you’d like to give birth in the most natural way possible, without the need for medical intervention.

You dream of having a physiological birth, without an epidural, so that you can support your baby throughout labour.

You’d like to have the tools you need to better manage pain, and feel confident on the day of delivery.

You’d like to be more self-reliant, both in terms of pain management and the preventive measures you need to take to give birth with complete peace of mind.

Unfortunately, you feel little support from the current medical system.

Like many women and families, you may recognize yourself in one or more of the following situations:

  • You are not satisfied with the solutions offered by conventional medicine to relieve the pain of childbirth (drugs to ease labour pain, epidural, caesarean section, etc.).
  • You had a bad experience during your last childbirth, and you felt alone and completely helpless.
  • Your postpartum was difficult physically and psychologically, and you’ve struggled to recover.
  • You’re afraid of experiencing (or reliving) a traumatic birth and/or not knowing how to manage pain.
  • You have the intuition that there must be solutions to make childbirth less painful and smoother, but you don’t know what they are.
  • You sometimes feel frustrated, because you’d like your partner to be more present, more involved and to support you 100% in this experience.

You’re not alone! Did you know that more than a third of pregnant women experience a traumatic birth, often following one or more medical intervention, and most often during their first experience?

You want to give yourself the best possible chance of giving birth safely and feel empowered as a woman?

We deeply believe in the power of nature and in women’s ability to give birth to humanity. They’ve been doing it since the dawn of time!

That’s why we’ve created a childbirth preparation course specially designed to equip future parents and help them forge strong bonds during this wonderful event that is the birth of their child.

The primary cause of trauma is impotence. With the help of the Bonapace Method, you’ll be empowered to make childbirth a positive, satisfying, transformative and safe experience.

Julie Bonapace
Julie Bonapace
Your trainer

Julie Bonapace

As a perinatal trainer, I’ve travelled the world training thousands of healthcare professionals in the Bonapace Method since it was created in 1989.

Although most healthcare professionals are full of good intentions, they sometimes misunderstand the basic needs of a woman giving birth: to feel safe and secure. Nor do they always realize the impact of birth on the life of the woman, her child and her family.

My experience as a researcher in a pain laboratory and as a family mediator has convinced me of the importance of preparing parents during the prenatal period, so that they become involved, make conscious, free and informed choices and can create the birth they want.

Pain is the first great fear to have been programmed into women.

I developed the Bonapace Method, a scientifically proven approach, to teach women how to use their endogenous resources (hormonal and neurophysiological) to reduce the pain and intense sensations of childbirth by almost 50%, and thus reduce medical interventions.

Thousands of parents around the world testify to how this childbirth preparation enabled them to experience the birth of their child to the full, in safety, joy and transcendence.

Testimonials

They’ve taken the course, and this is what they have to say…

“Taking the Bonapace Method course was the best thing we could have done to prepare for the birth of our first child.

First of all, the course enabled us to reflect as a couple on how childbirth would unfold. To develop our own vision together and draw up a birth plan based on our desires and values. In short, to establish our strategy as a couple.

The course enabled us to be ‘autonomous’ throughout the labour. We worked as a team throughout.

I very much wanted my partner to be involved in more than just moral support…
During the most intense phase of the work, my partner was my lighthouse, my only point of reference. He was all I could see and hear. His encouragement, instructions and massages guided me to delivery!

I sincerely hope that other couples will have an experience like ours.

I’d like to thank Julie for guiding us and instigating our choices, without pressure or judgment.

Thank you, Julie, for making such a difference!

“I gave birth last night to a beautiful, healthy baby boy by breech without an epidural.

Thank you so much for all your advice and coaching sessions that we did together. Without you, I would never have been “game” to give birth to my first breech baby!

I’m proof that your technique worked. Rémi and I did the HU pressure points and sounds, and that’s what enabled me to do my labour well and not need an epidural.

Thank you again for everything! We are very proud parents!

A lot of the nurses here are impressed!”

“I experienced two different births: the first without the Bonapace Method and the second with the method. At the end of the first birth, I had a powerful feeling of frustration and felt totally incompetent.

My wife was in pain and I didn’t really know what to do, how to support her, and this method enabled me to fill that gap for the second birth. For the first, I was totally passive. I went from being an observer to an actor.

For relaxation, I helped her to breathe correctly, to exhale, to relax. I also stroked her to help her feel more comfortable and relaxed. As for the pressure points, it was very simple: these pressure points create a secondary pain which releases endorphins, making it easier to bear the pain of childbirth.

And I think that really helps. It all adds up to a better birth experience.”

“The Bonapace method has changed the way I look at childbirth. Instead of the caesarean section I was considering for my twins, I was able to have a natural childbirth.

I was able to reduce my anxiety and realized that I could trust myself and my babies. And my two daughters who were breech turned around. My partner did the pressure points during the painful contractions and that helped a lot to reduce the pain.

The birth was rapid, with both my daughters born within two minutes of each other. The twins are doing great.”

Kim
“I just wanted to give you some feedback following the preparation I did via your website. With the Bonapace Method (which should be knowledge passed down from mother to daughter all over the world), I made a choice that was satisfying on every level for me and, frankly, I can’t say I suffered.

A quick labor in the maternity ward and Dad didn’t have time to apply the practical advice. My 2nd (Jonah) was born on July 19. Arrived at the maternity hospital at 7.15pm, gave birth at 7.26pm. Very efficient!

Thank you so much for all the tools you share with us. They enabled me to have a serene, pain-free birth in my own way. I was so afraid of pain after my 1ᵉʳ.

I found your videos really great from every point of view and my partner really got into it. I will be ready to go back into labor tomorrow thanks to all your classes!!!! Incredible!!!

It’s true that childbirth doesn’t have to be painful; we’re conditioned to think that way…

I was very surprised to find out afterwards that very few staff know about the Bonapace Method… The Method is still little known in France!!!! So since then, I’ve been talking about it everywhere, to professionals and expectant mothers alike…

Thank you, thank you, thank you… Keep up the good work!!!”

Mimi
“After several weeks of waiting and longing to meet our child, our little boy Ilan showed his face at 1.45 p.m. on Sunday 8 April, like a beautiful spring flower.

Once again, we wanted to thank you for your support, your dedication to these respected births and for your humanity! We’ve been overwhelmed by all this love and sharing, and we’ll always be grateful to you for everything you’ve brought into our lives!

With all our gratitude and love. May you continue on the path of liberated and respected births. Now it’s my turn to sow… “

Maud Le Moule
“Hello Julie,

Adam was born on 16.10 at 04:43 a.m. He was 4.250 kg and 53 cm. I had the natural birth (without epidural) that I wanted.

I wanted to thank you for your preparation, which helped me a lot. Even though I didn’t have time to apply certain tools such as HU chanting and acupressure points, I was in a state of mind that enabled me to go into labour calmly.

With this experience, if I have a third child and my pregnancy goes well, I’ll probably choose a different place to give birth (a smaller, friendlier maternity hospital or even a birthing centre), still with the Bonapace Method to prepare me!

Thanks again for everything!”

Gabrielle Tea
“Hello Julie,

I wanted to tell you about my birth. I watched the method and also that of Karine the midwife. I asked Thomas to watch some videos, we worked a bit on the acupressure points and above all, we tried to vocalize together…

And on 21 June, after going to the maternity ward to check that everything was fine, I was dilated to 1… slight contractions, nothing decisive, so I went home around midday…

At 2 p.m. the contractions intensified, but nothing very painful. At 4.30 p.m. I went for a bath and then Thomas and I spent an hour in the bath singing and trying to cope with the contractions. At 5.30 p.m. we decided to leave for the maternity ward, so I got out of the bath, tried to get dressed… I continued to manage the contractions, hoping to arrive at the maternity ward at least dilated to 4…

At 6 p.m., I went into the bathroom to go to the toilet and there… I felt the head… The next contraction, I pushed, the head came out, I called Thomas who came into the bathroom, he got under me with towels. I waited for the next contraction, stood up, pushed once and the body came out!

We went to bed afterwards, I took the cord off her neck and she cried…

Thank you for this wonderful and incredible birth!”
